JagNation Idiot of the Week Award

This week's version of the idiot of the week award is more of a career achievement award, rather than just this one instance. We at JagNation proudly grant this week's award to none other than the Miami Dolphins overrated linebacker, Joey Porter.

This past week, Joey Porter took yet another shot at the Cleveland Brown's budding star tight end, Kellen Winslow III. This week, Porter was implying that Winslow was soft when he said--

"He's a receiver, really...He's not a tight end, because he's not going to block anybody. I'm not knocking his game; he's a receiver.

If you ask me who's going to win the Joey Porter-Kellen Winslow battle: Me. He's not going to block me and stop me from doing anything I'm going to do."

This isn't the first time Porter has taken a shot at Winslow, nor even the first time that Porter has spouted off in the media and made himself look stupid. Porter went on record last year by calling Winslow a homosexual slur. Earlier this year Porter put added pressure on his winless Dolphins by guaranteeing a victory over the Oakland Raiders, something that neither he, nor his team could back up.

So how did this past weekend's game end up? The Browns did what everyone else in the league does, and that's beat up on the Dolphins. Cleveland won the game, 41-31, and Kellen Winslow III caught five passes for 90 yards, not too bad for a soft guy. How did Joey do? He had four tackles and another loss. Congratulations.

Joey Porter embodies the true spirit in which this award was intended, as he continues to do and say stupid things, week after week. Congratulations again Joey for notching this illustrious honor, and we at JagNation are fully confident that you'll be notching another one of these awards before the season is over.
