Drew Brees was the starting quarterback for the NFC in the Pro Bowl, and finished as the runner-up for NFL MVP. Marques Colston literally came out of nowhere (7th round pick) to become the NFL's rookie of the year runner-up, and earned himself a spot in Hawaii at the Pro Bowl. Reggie Bush may be the most hyped player of them all, as he received many all-rookie team accolades, and appears in many national ads.
The player that isn't often mentioned when referring to the explosive Saints offense is left tackle Jammal Brown. Jammal Brown was the Outland Trophy recipient in 2004 at the University of Oklahoma, and allowed just one sack in his last two years at the school. That propelled Brown to be a first-round pick by the Saints in 2005, and was an immediate starter and fixture at the most important position on the offensive line.
Offensive lineman are usually overlooked because they don't catch passes, run with the football, or score touchdowns. Without the offensive line, none of those three acts can be achieved with any success. Jammal Brown is one of the most important factors in the entire New Orleans offense. Without Brown's pass protection, Drew Brees becomes a very average quarterback, and Reggie Bush and Marques Colston are just average route runners. Jammal Brown may be the most indispensable player on the Saints offense.
Jammal Brown was finally recognized for his fine play by his peers in 2006, as he was the NFC's starter at left tackle in the Pro Bowl. Brown also finished on the Associated Press' All-Pro team. The Jaguars defensive ends will have a very difficult time on Sunday implementing any kind of pass rush from the left side, as Brown will serve as a wall to protect Drew Brees.
