Jaguars Player Notes

Player Notes for the Jacksonville Jaguars 11/14/2007

--QB David Garrard had a 102.9 rating before he got hurt and missed three games. That's good enough to be fourth in the NFL. But the big question if he plays against San Diego is whether he'll be rusty after a three game layoff.

--QB Quinn Gray had only a 63.3 rating in his three starts, but the important numbers are 2-1. That was the record with him at quarterback.

--RB Maurice Drew has bypassed Fred Taylor has the team's leading rusher. He had 536 yards in 101 carries to Taylor's 519 in 125 carries.

--TE Marcedes Lewis is third on the team with 21 receptions, but doesn't have a touchdown catch and hasn't made many big plays.

--WR Dennis Northcutt caught only one pass against the Titans Sunday, but still leads the team with 24 catches.

--WR Ernest Wilford is starting, but has only 19 catches for the year. He's tied with Reggie Williams in that department. But Williams has four touchdown catches and Wilford has yet to catch one.

--DE Reggie Hayward, returning from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered last year, is recovering his old form and has 2.5 sacks against the Titans.

--DT Rob Meier is starting now that Marcus Stroud is serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's steroids policy and he got good reviews from the coaches although he didn't make the defensive stat sheet.

--MLB Mike Peterson led the team with 14 tackles, nine solo, and had an interception, fumble recovery and a pass defensed.

--CB Terry Cousin, the nickel back, had seven tackles and a pass defensed against the Titans.

--DT John Henderson, who has to step up now that Marcus Stroud is serving a four-game steroids suspension, had five tackles, including four solos, against the Titans, but didn't make any big plays.

--P Adam Podlesh continues to struggle and dropped a punt against the Titans. He ranks 25th in gross yardage and 16th in net yardage.
