Hayward Injury Update

The Jaguars lost defensive end Reggie Hayward in the first two minutes with a groin injury and missed his pass-rushing ability. The Jaguars put more heat on Peyton Manning than they did in the first game because they blitzed more, but had trouble getting to him when they didn't blitz.

Hayward said he hopes he'll be able to return next week.

"The groin is going to be fine. It's one of those things when you're going hard and your body can't keep up with your intensity. The plan is to be ready next week," Hayward said.

Hayward was walking gingerly in the locker room, but said the problem wasn't the groin.

"I'm having a little trouble because I just dropped my laptop on my toe," he said.

Of watching from the sidelines, Hayward said, "It was difficult because I felt my team needed me to be out there."

Bobby McCray, who was inactive the last two games, and Jeremy Mincey, saw action in Hayward's spot. McCray had one solo tackle and four assists.
