New Coach in Jacksonville

Michael Wright of the Florida Times-Union is reporting that Donnie Henderson will become the newest member of the Jaguars coaching staff.

Even though last season's defensive coordinator, Mike Smith, was lost to assume the head coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons, it seems that Donnie Henderson will not be stepping into that coordinator role.

"His role will be defined later," Del Rio said.

Donnie Henderson last coached in Detroit during the 2006-2007 season where he served as the Lions' defensive coordinator. Henderson sat out the 2007-2008 season.

Prior to the Lions', Henderson coached two seasons as the Jets' defensive coordinator.

"He brings a tough attitude," Del Rio said. "We're excited to bring him on the staff."
