New Tight End Contract

The Jaguars signed former practice squad tight end Charles Davis to a contract yesterday.

Davis is a 6'6", 260 lb. tight end from Purdue University, that was more of a pass catching tight end in college rather than a blocker. Davis is said to have solid hands, a nasty streak, and a great work ethic.

The Jaguars are Davis' third organization, as he was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth-round of the 2006 draft, before being released. Davis was picked up in 2007 by the Super Bowl champion New York Giants, and was released prior to the season opener. The Jaguars brought Davis to their practice squad last December, and his practice squad contract expired after the season was over.
