Sensabaugh Locked In

The Jaguars locked in one of their projected starters in the secondary for next year, when safety Gerald Sensabaugh signed his one-year tender for $1.417 million.

Sensabaugh played in just two games last year before going on the injured reserve list with torn labrums in both shoulders. He had moved into the starting lineup after the club released veteran Donovin Darius.

Sensabaugh isn't a lock to keep his starting spot, even with the release of Sammy Knight, who was brought in last year and filled in at the starting spot for Sensabaugh. With the Jaguars signing Drayton Florence in free agency, there's some belief that Florence could move into a starting cornerback spot which would likely send Brian Williams to Sensabaugh's safety spot.

Sensabaugh will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season.
