Jaguars Roll Call

The Jaguars held another "voluntary" offseason training activity this morning, and the biggest story of the "practice" was who wasn't in attendance, as opposed to who made it.

As expected, defensive end Paul Spicer was absent, likely due to issues he has about his contract, but his opposite bookend, Reggie Hayward was also not in attendance.

We're not sure what issue or issues defensive end Reggie Hayward may have, being that he signed a wealthy free agent deal with the team prior to the 2005 season, and is due roughly $3.5 million in salary. In the last two years, Hayward has missed 19 of the team's 32 regular season games, and has racked up just 3.5 sacks. Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio wasn't abreast of any issues, nor the whereabouts of the Jaguars defensive end when he exclaimed--

"I don't have any information on Hayward."

Some other Jaguars who didn't practice Monday were wide receiver Mike Walker, tight end George Wrighster, defensive end Brian Smith, and tight end Marcedes Lewis, who had an excused absence, as he had a death in the family. Wide receiver Jerry Porter's day ended early as he appeared to injure an ankle.
