Friendly Fire Injury

The Jaguars suffered their first potentially major injury of OTA's. Find out who, what, and where...

The Jaguars priciest free agent acquisition of the season, wide receiver Jerry Porter, has reportedly gone down with a knee injury. Last week, Porter injured his Achilles, an injury which was said to not be very serious.

This latest setback could have much more of an impact on the team, as Porter was clearly the Jaguars best receiver during OTA's, and is being counted on to have a big year as he's teamed up with quarterback David Garrard.

"I think he's going to be a great receiver here," said David Garrard. "He's definitely a receiver that can make a lot of spectacular plays, and I think he's going to add to the great group of receivers we already have."

At this point, the Jaguars haven't released any information about the severity of the injury. If Porter is forced to miss an extended period of time, the Jaguars will have virtually the same receiving corps that finished 2007 ranked 17th in passing, without the services of Ernest Wilford who left for Miami as a free agent.
