Jaguars Dead Zone Updates

News is at a premium in the period known as the "dead zone." Here are a few bits of information involving your Jaguars.

The Jaguars inked their third defensive lineman to an extension over the offseason, as Paul Spicer received a two-year, $8 million contract extension.

There is no dead zone for Jaguars starting tight end Marcedes Lewis, as he is sculpting his body at the Athletes Performance facility in his native California. Lewis is training with wide receiver T.J. Houshmanzadeh and Anthony Fasano, among others. Reports have Lewis in the best physical shape of his life, and he's running faster than he did coming out of UCLA when he was the Mackey Award winner as a senior.

Jaguars star running back Maurice Jones-Drew is about to enter fatherhood, as he could be a father any day now. His former high school teammate, Jaguars defensive tackle Derek Landri will be bestowed the honor of being the child's godfather.

The Jaguars reportedly raised $90,000 to help families that were stricken by tornados in Parkersburg, Iowa, the hometown of Jaguars center Brad Meester. For more on the story, click here
