Rookie Contracts: By The Numbers

As of Friday morning, roughly 24 hours before the team's first training camp practice, the Jaguars have come to terms with each of their five draft picks with the exception of defensive end Derrick Harvey. JagNation will now review the terms of each contract, what each players likely role will be, and their chances of making the final roster.

Seventh-round pick Chauncey Washington (RB, USC)

Chauncey Washington received a signing bonus of roughly $60,000 and a minimum base salary of $295,000 this season, $360,000 in 2009, $440,000 in 2010 and $550,000 in 2011.

The third running back job is Washington's to lose, as he has definite speed and running skills. The Jaguars paved the way for Washington to make the roster when they released D.D. Terry last month.

Odds of making the final roster: Excellent

Fifth-round pick Trae Williams (CB, USF)

Former University of South Florida defensive back Trae Williams signed a four-year deal worth approximately $2.175 million, with a signing bonus of $168,000. Yearly salary figures are expected to be similar to Washington's.

Williams will compete with Scott Starks for the nickelback job and will likely play some special teams.

Odds of making the final roster: Very good.

Fifth-round pick Thomas Williams (LB, USC)

The former USC outside linebacker will receive the following base salaries: (2008) $295,000 (2009) $385,000 (2010) $470,000 (2011) $555,000 along with a signing bonus of around $174,000.

Thomas Williams will compete for time as a backup at weak-side linebacker and will have to make a special teams contribution to secure a roster spot.

Odds of making the final roster: Fair to good.

Second-round pick Quentin Groves (DE, Auburn)

Quentin Groves has agreed to a deal that will pay him in the $3.3 million range, and includes a signing bonus of $1.355 million, according to the Florida Times-Union. Adam Caplan of is reporting Groves receiving the minimum base salaries of: (‘08) $295,000 (‘09) $385,000 (‘10) $470,000 (‘11) $555,000.

Groves will contribute in passing situations initially until he proves that he can play against the run. Groves is a big, athletic pass rusher that could flourish in Gregg Williams system.

Odds of making the final roster: Lock

First-round pick Derrick Harvey (DE, Florida)

Currently unsigned. Harvey and the Jaguars will likely come to terms over the next 24 hours, as we've heard reports that both sides have agreed upon contract figures, and the only thing to work out are the performance incentives. We expect Harvey to receive at least $11 million in guaranteed money.

The Jaguars are hoping that Harvey can win the starting defensive end job opposite Paul Spicer.

Odds of making the final roster: Lock
