Jaguars signed rookie free agent defensive tackle Tywain Myles and released him one day later.
Myles is 23 years old from Nacogdoches, Texas. He was a four-year letterman at Tarleton State where he was an exercise and sports studies major.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on April 27, 2008, but was released.
The 6-2, 305-pounder played in all 11 games as a senior and recorded 47 tackles, 10 for a loss, six sacks and three forced fumbles. The Nacogdoches, Texas native was named Lone Star Conference South Division Defensive Lineman of the Year as a junior and All-Conference first team as a junior and senior.
As a junior Myles played in all 10 games, recorded 38 total tackles, including 20 solo and 18 assisted. Had 4.5 tackles for a total loss of 19 yards... Also recorded one sack for a loss of seven yards..
In high school Myles was named first team all-district selection. He averaged 12 tackles a games as a senior and was a two-time Outstanding Offensive Back for Nacodoches High.
He will wear jersey No. 60.
