PASSING OFFENSE: A -- David Garrard passed for 236 yards and a touchdown while compiling a 103.1 passer rating. He also directed a 51-yard drive in overtime to set up Josh Scobee's game-winning 37-yard field goal. This was the second week in a row that he led a game-winning drive that ended in a field goal.
RUSHING OFFENSE: C -- Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor went into the game banged up from the Indianapolis game. On top of that, the Texans used the usual strategy against the Jaguars and put eight men in the box to stop the run. The result was that Drew was held to 32 yards and Taylor to 25. Garrard was the Jaguars' leading rusher with 41 yards on seven carries, including a 5-yard touchdown run with 1:48 left.
PASS DEFENSE: D -- Even though Matt Schaub threw 40 times, the Jaguars didn't sack him once. He got comfortable in the pocket and threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns and a 119.5 passer rating. The Texans had the ball three times in the second half: They scored two touchdowns and got down to the Jacksonville 29 on their last series and had to take a field goal to tie the game because they ran out of time. If they had won the coin toss, they probably would have won the game.
RUSH DEFENSE: B -- The Jaguars held the Texans to 79 yards rushing as Steve Slaton had 33 and Chris Taylor 22. Schaub scrambled for 24 yards. Yet even though Jacksonville stopped the running game, it couldn't stop the Texans' passing game.
SPECIAL TEAMS: A -- The Jaguars pulled off a fake punt as Montell Owens lined up and took the snap and ran 41 yards for a touchdown. Josh Scobee added three field goals, and Brian Witherspoon returned two punts for 43 yards and five kickoffs for 130 yards. The special teams won the game.
COACHING: B -- Coach Jack Del Rio made a bold move by going for the fake field goal that went for a touchdown and turned out to win the game. But his trademark is defense, and that unit is getting shredded.
