Milford Brown, a seventh-year veteran guard from Florida State was signed to a contract following the Jaguars opening day loss to Tennessee when starting guards Vince Manuwai and Maurice Williams went down for the season with injuries. Brown played in six games and started four for the Jaguars before being replaced by the combination of Tutan Reyes and Chris Naeole.
Jimmy Kennedy was signed in the offseason to bolster the Jaguars defensive line depth and earned a roster spot after a solid preseason. The former first-round pick from Penn State has never lived up to expectations in his career and played in just six games for Jacksonville. Kennedy recorded just eight tackles and a sack while being in a defensive tackle rotation with John Henderson, Rob Meier, Tony McDaniel, and Derek Landri.
These two moves, as minor as they may be, pave the way for the team to sign some younger players as the Jaguars roster has seemingly aged past the point of productivity this season.
