Jags Visit Ohio

The last time the Jaguars visited the state of Ohio they left with an embarrassing 21-19 loss to the formerly winless Cincinnati Bengals. This trip will undoubtedly have a much better outcome as the Jaguars scouts are looking for some talent.

JagNation has confirmed that Jaguars scouts were in attendance at Friday night's Miami of Ohio-Toledo game. Although there are likely no blue-chip, first-round prospects that were featured in the game, there could be a few late-round steals that the Jags could pluck. One of which is Miami junior outside linebacker Caleb Bostic. Bostic measures in at 6'3", 228 lbs., and runs a 4.5 40-yard dash. Entering Friday's action, Bostic had registered 40 tackles, three TFL, 1.5 sacks, and one pass defensed. Bostic is currently projected as a late-round pick.

Some other prospects from Miami of Ohio are senior middle linebacker Joey Hudson, senior outside linebacker Clayton Mullins, senior defensive end Joe Coniglio, and senior strong safety Robbie Wilson.

Offensive prospects include junior quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh, and special teams guys that will get a good look are senior kicker Nathan Parseghian, and senior punter Jake Richardson.

The top prospect from Toledo is junior strong safety Barry Church. Although he may have a "holy name," Church delivers pain as he is a punishing hitter. He measures in at 6'2", 218 lbs., runs a 4.54 40-yard dash. Church is a two-time first team all-MAC selection (‘06-‘07), and entering Friday's action had 72 tackles, four TFL, one interception, five passes defensed, and one forced fumble. Church is currently projected as an early second-day pick.

Another player who will likely hear his name called in next April's draft, assuming he decides to come out will be junior wide receiver Stephen Williams. Williams is a large 6'5", 200 lb. target, and he has reliable hands. Williams runs the 40 in 4.54 seconds, and was a second team all-MAC selection a year ago. On the season, Williams has 67 receptions for 715 yards, and has eight touchdowns.

Some other prospects from Toledo are redshirt sophomore outside linebacker Archie Donald, senior free safety Tyrrell Herbert, junior quarterback Aaron Opelt, junior running back DaJuane Collins, senior wide receiver Nick Moore, and junior kicker Alex Steigerwald.
