More Personnel Moves by the Jaguars

It was only the tip of the iceberg when the Jaguars released two veterans yesterday. More changes were made today.

The Jaguars made three more personnel moves today when they placed punter Adam Podlesh on the injured reserve list and signed veteran punter Steve Weatherford. The team also waived cornerback Omare Lowe and activated defensive end Jeremy Mincey and tight end George Wrighster from the PUP list.

The team also waived tight end Chris Brown from the practice squad and replaced his spot with center Tim Mattran, who was originally signed by Minnesota as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Stanford.

Weatherford last played with Kansas City after being claimed off waivers from the New Orleans Saints back in October. The former undrafted rookie from Illinois has a career gross punting average of 43.4 yards, and will wear number six.

Podlesh, the former fourth-round pick from Maryland, suffered a knee injury in Sunday's game and has a gross punting average of 43.2 yards this season.

The Jaguars hope Mincey will help with a severe lack of pass rush from the defensive line. Mincey has 10 tackles and one sack in six career games.

George Wrighster is an athletic tight end who has battled numerous injuries throughout his five year career, but has flashed potential at times. In 62 games, Wrighster has 92 receptions for 815 yards and nine touchdowns.
