Ball State has several top prospects, despite being a small school located in Indiana. Junior quarterback Nate Davis could play on Sunday's next year if he decides to leave school and scouts love the arm and athleticism of the 6'2", 218 lb. signal caller. Davis was a first-team all-Mac selection a year ago and was the MAC West player of the week during week nine. Davis has completed 218 of 324 passes entering this weekend's contest for 3095 yards, 25 TD's and just 6 INT's. Davis has also scrambled for 241 yards on 49 rushing attempts including four touchdowns, and has even caught a touchdown pass. Davis is currently projected as a first or second-round pick.
Some other offensive prospects from Ball State are junior running back MiQuale Lewis, senior tight end Darius Hill, and senior offensive tackle Robert Brewster, all of which could be late-round picks.
Defensive prospects from Ball State include senior outside linebackers Bryant Haines and Kenny Meeks, senior cornerbacks B.J. Hill and Trey Lewis, and junior strong safety Alex Knipp. Senior punter Chris Miller is also projected as a late-round pick.
The top prospect from surprising Buffalo is senior quarterback Drew Willy. Willy has solid size at 6'3", 214 lbs., and may be the developmental quarterback that the team has been looking for. On the season, Willy has completed 256 of his 397 passes for 2885 yards, and has thrown 22 touchdown passes and just five interceptions. Although Willy isn't a run-first guy he has scored four touchdowns on the ground. Willy is currently projected as a late-round pick.
A couple of other offensive prospects from Buffalo are junior running back James Starks and junior wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt. Although both players are draft eligible, it would probably serve them better to stay in school for another year.
