Rashad Jennings is not a speed guy as much as he is a bruising type of running back at 6'1", 235 lbs., wtih has quick feet. During his senior year, he ran for 1,500 yards while scoring 17 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 190 yards and two more scores.
Jennings timed speed and measureables won't wow anyone, but he was figured by many experts to be a middle-round selection, and some mocks had him as high as round two. Here's what Scout.com NFL Draft Expert Chris Steuber had to say–
Jennings is a physical runner who's tough to handle in the open field. He has great size and strength and possesses outstanding vision. He's a North-South runner who runs low to the ground and has good balance. He's deceptively quick and has surprising elusiveness. He has great hands out of the backfield and is dangerous in space. He keeps his legs moving and fights for extra yards, but has issues holding onto the ball.
With the Jaguars final pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, they opted for even more help at wide receiver in the person of Rutgers Tiquan Underwood. Underwood is 6'2", 185 lbs. and has speed to burn, as he recorded a 4.41 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, followed up by a 4.34 at Rutgers Pro Day.
"I just wanted to come out and compete and just show that I'm a consistent person when it comes to running drills, just show that my times aren't fake," Underwood said. "I just wanted to prove that they're real times."
Underwood played in the shadows of first-round pick Kenny Britt while the two were at Rutgers, but he was still able to catch 40 passes for 494 yards and five touchdowns.
Jennings should compete for a roster spot with Chauncey Washington as the Jaguars third running back, while Underwood will compete with draft picks Mike Thomas and Jarrett Dillard, as well as Dennis Northcutt, D'Juan Woods, and Mike Walker for a roster spot at a wide open receiver position.
