J.D. Walton Drafted by Broncos

After making a big splash in the first round by drafting quarterback Tim Tebow, the Broncos found the guy to snap him the ball for the foreseeable future - Baylor All American Center J.D. Walton.

J.D. Walton decided several years ago to transfer to Baylor from Arizona State to be closer to home, and with the hope and dream of making it to the NFL. After watching Baylor teammate Jason Smith go #2 overall in last year's draft, Walton heard his name called as the 85th pick to the Denver Broncos.

J.D. Walton marks the first Baylor Bear selected in this year's NFL draft, although he likely will not be the last with wide receiver David Gettis still available.

Walton, a 6'3", 300 pound was a three year starter for the Bears.

Chris Steuber, Scout.com NFL Draft Analyst had this to say about Walton's game: Walton is a tough, durable blocker that controls the line of scrimmage. He's an intelligent individual who possesses great leadership qualities and a passion for the game.
