Mack Sounds Like A Texan

The Houston Texans are hot after Jaguar free agent running back Stacey Mack and it looks like the feeling is mutual. The 6-foot-1 and 236 pound four-year pro has been playing in the shadows of Jaguar starter Fred Taylor and it appears he feels that Houston would be the place where he could be the feature back.

"I'm definitely looking to find somewhere I'm going to carry the ball 20 to 25 times a game," Mack said. "I want to be that featured back, so I'm definitely looking for that. You never just walk into a place and start, but I'm definitely going to shoot for a starting position. Hopefully, I can come out here and start and contribute to the offense. It's a lovely place, and I would love to be here and run the ball for the Texans if we can get a deal done."

It sounds like the Jaguar running back has already made up his mind and that he wants to sign on the dotted line as soon as possible.

I'm looking to get a deal done as soon as possible," Mack told the insiders.com. "If we can get one done today, tomorrow -- just as soon as possible."

Mack also plans to visit Dallas and Oakland but believes the Texans would offer him the best chance to start.

This past season with the Jaguars, Mach rushed for 436 yards on 98 carries and nine touchdowns.
