Bills sign Jags WR

Buffalo reports the Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with free agent WR Bobby Shaw (Jaguars) on an undisclosed contract.

The Bills entertained two free agent wide receivers in the wake of the Peerless Price trade to Atlanta, Tennessee's Kevin Dyson and Jacksonville's Bobby Shaw. Shaw played for offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride in Pittsburgh.

Today, the Bills wasted no time signing the free agent Shaw to a contract. The terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.

Last year as a Jaguar, the 6-foot-0 180 pound five-year pro out of California won a starting job when Patrick Johnson was sidelined by an abdominal injury. He caught 44 passes for 525 yards.

Jag TE visits New Orleans

At this time it appears unlikely that the Jaguars will re-sign tight end Pete Mitchell.

The 6-foot-2 and 265 pound free agent will visit with New Orleans this week.

Last year as a Jaguar, Mitchell caught 25 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns.

Chike Okeafor's Out

With the signing of three-time all-pro defensive end Hugh Douglas, it's not surprising that the pursuit of 49er's defensive end Chike Okeafor is over.

"Last week we got a solid offer from Jacksonville," Okeafor's agent Andy Simms said. "We followed it with a counter offer but heard nothing back. We didn't hear about the Douglas news until late on Friday."
