Jags Close Preseason With Victory

The Jaguars concluded their preseason as they defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 13-9 at Everbank Field. The 40,000 plus in attendance (nearly 62,000 tickets distributed), were able to witness an epic fourth quarter battle featuring Trevor Harris and John Parker Wilson.

"We worked hard starting in the OTAs, starting in the offseason program and all through training camp and so all that comes to a close and going into the next phase which is the regular season and we're looking forward to it," Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said.

We're going to compare our pregame notes and see how the game played out.

Here's what to look for:

Watch the play on the back end of the defense- The biggest play made by a Jaguars safety was the crushing blow Courtney Greene laid on Falcons running back Antone Smith, which forced a fumble. Otherwise, Sean Considine played well and defended two passes, Gerald Alexander dropped an interception and Reggie Nelson had a pair of tackles seemingly in mop-up duty.

Time for the receivers to shine- The receivers did anything but shine actually. Tiquan Underwood dropped a pair of long passes, and Troy Williamson couldn't get two feet in bounds on a would-be third down conversion and he also dropped a ball. Someone has to get the job, but neither player showed themselves very worthy.

Watch Brock- Bolen put forth another very strong effort as he scored the game's only touchdown on a 16-yard scamper. Bolen could find himself employed by the team once Saturday comes and goes.

Three to see:

Leger Douzable- The former UCF Knight started the game and played better than his one tackle stat-line would suggest. Douzable is still on the bubble for a roster spot, but he's making it a tough decision.

Troy Williamson- Williamson didn't do himself many favors as he caught a pass on the sideline but couldn't drag his feet in-bounds, and dropped another ball targeted for him. If Williamson wins a spot, it will be because of Tiquan Underwood's poor play.

Reggie Nelson- Nelson didn't play much until late in the game and he didn't make much of an impact. It would appear as if his fate had already been decided prior to the game, one way or the other
