Edwards On The Practice Field

Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards returns to the practice field Wednesday following his recent brush with the law.

Florham Park, NJ – Recently arraigned Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was back on the practice field Wednesday morning, following his arrest in the early hours of Tuesday. Edwards, who was pulled over in his SUV by police of the seventh precinct in Manhattan for an equipment violation, was arrested for DWI and taken to jail. He has not publicly commented on the incident.

Edwards was arraigned late Tuesday afternoon in Manhattan but was on the practice field at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center on Wednesday morning.

The wide receiver, who has had other brushes with the law, stretched with his teammates but was relegated to working with the second-team for the offense's drills. On Sunday during the Jets emphatic 28-14 win over New England, Edwards had five catches and a touchdown, one of his better performances since being traded to the team last October.

The Jets have said that Edwards will not start this Sunday in a road game with AFC East rival Miami but that he most likely will play.

Center Nick Mangold and tackle Wayne Hunter did not practice with the team during the early part of training and were limited to riding the exercise bike…Conrerback Darrelle Revis, who had a hamstring injury on Sunday that prevented him from playing in the second half against New England, was not on the practice field Wednesday morning. On Monday, Revis said he was uncertain whether he'd be available for this weekend against Miami.
