Wednesday's Injury Updates

Rex Ryan provided an injury update for his team on Wednesday following practice.

Florham Park, NJ – The Jets continue to mend from injuries but are perhaps still a week away from being nearly full strength. Head coach Rex Ryan, who on Monday said that he hoped to have both linebacker Calvin Pace and cornerback Darrelle Revis on the field this weekend, didn't seem nearly as optimistic after Wednesday on practice.

Revis rode the bike for the early portion of practice then did stretching and agility work with a team trainer. Pace did not practice with the defense but also did conditioning work. Ryan thinks that Pace could play against the Bills, especially in third down passing situations.

"I'm not as optimistic about Darrelle," Ryan said.

Limited in practice were center Nick Mangold who suffered a shoulder injury in the week two win over New England and Jason Taylor, who continues to have an elbow injury.

It is not good news for offensive lineman Wayne Hunter, whose injured calf and shin continues to hold him out of practice. Hunter did not practice again on Wednesday.

"It keeps getting worse, not better," Ryan said.

Jamaal Westerman was forced to the bike as well, following stretching with the team. Ryan said that an ankle injury is forcing the defensive end/linebacker off the practice field. Offensive lineman Damien Woody also missed Wednesday's practice session due to personal reasons.
