Week 7 Fantasy Football Primer

GWR's weekly look at fantasy picks and trends to help you plan your team for the weekend!

Fantasy football might have some detractors out there, but there is no denying it makes every Sunday that much more exciting. Die hards of one team have vested interest in many teams thanks to the world of Fantasy, and each week, GreenAndWhiteReport.com will be taking a look at the Best Bet for each position, and giving you a synopsis of how the Best Jet will fare. This week, the Jets are off, so we'll just examine the best fantasy plays. Here's a peek at Week 7.

QUARTERBACK

Best Bet

New England's got the 29th-ranked passing attack in the NFL. Phillip Rivers is a good play in just about any week, but he seems likely to put up big numbers with San Diego fighting for its life.

RUNNING BACK

Best Bet

I'll take Ray Rice against Buffalo. The Bills are allowing a league-worst 4.8 yards per carry, and Rice is still the engine that makes the Ravens go.

WIDE RECEIVER

Best Bet

Brandon Lloyd will feel free as can be against Oakland's defense, a week after dealing with the New York Jets. You can be sure Kyle Orton will find Lloyd as much as possible this weekend.

TIGHT END

Best Bet

I think San Francisco might be ready to get on the right track, and Vernon Davis is still their most dangerous asset. Alex Smith looked a lot less tentative against the Raiders; if that continues, Davis' numbers should skyrocket.

KICKER

Best Bet

I feel like I pick Mason Crosby every week, but he is just a quality kicker, plain and simple. Any Green Bay-Minnesota game can go down-to-the-wire, so some Crosby heroics aren't out of the question.

DEFENSE

Best Bet

OK, I officially believe in the Big Blue defense. Perry Fewell has done a remarkable job in fixing the Bill Sheridan debacle, and the Giants seem to be primed to dominate Dallas Monday night. Ask Jay Cutler, Todd Collins, Shaun Hill and Drew Stanton how good this unit is.
