Mangold, Cromartie named to Pro Bowl roster

All-Pro center Nick Mangold will be booking his flight to Hawaii this week as he has been called upon to take the field in this year's Pro-Bowl. Mangold will be appearing in his fifth Pro-Bowl in his eight years with the Jets. He will be joined by Antonio Cromartie, representing the Green and White this Sunday.

Nick Mangold will be heading down to Hawaii this week, as he gets the call to play in this year's Pro-Bowl. Mangold will be making his fifth appearance at Aloha Stadium; replacing Seattle Seahawks center Max Unger.

Mangold has been invited to five Pro-Bowls in the last eight years, ranging from 2009-2011 and now in 2013. He has been the anchor of the Jets' offensive line since coming to New York in 2006 and proved to be one of the most dominant centers in the league. The eight year veteran has played in all 126 regular season games, and has been one of the franchise's most consistent players. His leadership and outstanding play on the field has given him great respect around the league and in the stands, which is why No. 74 will be going to Hawaii this year.

Even though the offensive line has struggled in previous seasons, the talent on the line cannot be over looked. Mangold has been named All-Pro multiple times, adding to his Pro-Bowl accolades. For the first time since 2009, Mangold had to snap the ball to a different voice. This adjustment for a center can be hard, but the veteran performed exceptionally well.

Mangold will be accompanied by teammate Antonio Cromartie who replaced injured cornerback Aqib Talib. Cromartie will be playing in his third Pro-Bowl, and his first with Mangold. The only Jets players on the Pro-Bowl roster this year will be representing the team on both sides of the ball, being replacements for the second half of the game.

The Pro-Bowl will be played this Sunday, January 26 at 7:00 Eastern time.
