Jets Bring Back “ The Terminator” Sign Owusu

The Jets have re-signed former fifth-round pick John Conner today. After putting Tommy Bohanon on the IR with a broken collarbone the Jets have turned to their former starting fullback to take over the position.

Conner was a 2010 draft pick by Rex Ryan and the Jets. Ryan is famous for giving Conner the nickname “The Terminator” for obvious reasons (his name). With Bohanon going down with a broken collarbone the Jets needed to fill the fullback spot and decided to go with a guy they know and trust.

Conner isn’t much of a pass catcher or even runner like Bohanon was but the guy can certainly block with the best of them. Conner was known for the crushing blocks he would lay on his opponents and his tremendous special teams play.Conner won’t be much of a weapon on offense but will provide special teams help and a punishing blocker when the Jets get down on the goal line.

In another related move the Jets signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Owusu today. Owusu originally came out of college undrafted from Stanford in 2012. Owusu ended up with the Buccaneers and hasn’t played much over the last two seasons playing in a total of 14 games in that span. However Owusu did start out this season playing in the Buccaneers first three games and even scoring a touchdown on opening day before getting cut last week.

The Jets continue to add depth to the receiver position as they have signed T.J. Graham and Owusu in the past two days. It is not yet known if either will suit up for the Jets this weekend in San Diego. However clearly the Jets weren’t happy with the production of their receiver group and brought in two veterans to help out.
