Davis’ Stamp Of Approval

Since the final week of the season the Jets have been busy. They hired their new General Manager and Head Coach within days of each other and have a lot more work to do. JetsInsider.com caught up with linebacker DeMario Davis and he shed some light on the new hires.

“We haven’t had a chance to sit down with the coaches but I look forward to sitting down with (Bowles).” Davis seems pretty excited for what lies ahead for this organization and is ready to take on the offseason in stride.

Davis explained how he and the rest of his teammates are excited to play for a guy like Bowles. “I have heard nothing but good things about Coach Bowles and his defense and I can’t wait to sit down with him.”

Davis, who this season took another leap as a pro by leading the Jets in solo tackles with 79, said he was proud of what he accomplished. “I think it speakers volumes about the training I put in the offseason last year I like the increase in production this year and I plan on taking it to another level this offseason.”

Davis who has been around for three years now is starting to become one of the leaders on this Jets team and with David Harris becoming a free agent Davis might have to step up next season as the alpha male in that Jets locker room. “I’m confident to be able to do what ever my coach needs me to do I have seen every aspect of the game and I’m more than confident going into my fourth year that whatever coach asks me to play I’m able to play based on my experience.”

Davis who seems up for the challenge has a long offseason in front of him and plans to keep things status quo when it comes to working out as he plans to do the same thing he did last offseason to better his game. “I try and keep the same routine I work with my technique coach and I work with a lot of my teammates as well. I try to stick to a strict regiment that starts in about March.”

If you want to check in with DeMario or some of the current and former Jets players this weekend only the Jets are sponsoring Jets House in New York City where fans can come and interact with the players. This is going on all weekend long and you can check out more at the Jets official website.
