Jets trade final pick for RB Zac Stacy

FLORHAM PARK, NJ - The Jets ended the 2015 draft by acquiring 24 year old RB Zac Stacy from the St. Louis Rams.

3nd year RB Zac Stacy, who rushed for 973 yards and 7 TD's as a rookie but lost his job as a starter last year to Tre Mason, became available after the Rams drafted Todd Gurley with the 10th pick. Last year Stacy ran for 293 yards and 1 TD in a limited role.

Stacy publicly showed his displeasure with the Rams' selection by tweeting "Yikes" right after they picked Gurley. He quickly deleted it but reportedly demanded a trade or his release soon after. The Rams problem then became the Jets gain as GM Mike Maccagnan nabbed him from St. Louis for a late 7th round pick (#224).

The acquisition filled a need for more quality depth at the RB spot as Stacy joins Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell and Stevan Ridley. The move also ends a very successful first draft (on paper) for Maccagnan who filled several lingering holes that the team had.
