JetsCamp Practice Report: Aug. 26

Complete report from Jets training camp on Aug. 26

FLORHAM PARK: It was a card practice for the Jets during the team's second-to-last training camp workout of the summer. With Saturday's dress rehearsal against the Giants just a few days away, New York worked game planning and preparation for Big Blue's offense and defense.

As is the case with all card days, there isn't too, too much to take out of the day. Either way, here are the highlights:

The walking wounded:

The Jets got a few faces back on Wednesday. Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson was a full participant, or at least participated in as much of practice since injuring his hamstring. Receivers Chris Owusu (concussion) and Shaquelle Evans (back) were both back in a full capacity, too. Jets head coach Todd Bowles said both will play against the Giants. Offensive lineman James Brewer (back), quarterback Matt Flynn (hamstring), safety Durell Eskridge (concussion) and cornerback Curtis Brown (hamstring) all practiced in some capacity. Flynn did not take part in team drills.

Running back Stevan Ridley (knee, PUP), running back Daryl Richardson (concussion), defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson (knee), defensive lineman Ronald Talley (hamstring), linebacker Erin Henderson (knee), tight end Jace Amaro (shoulder), cornerback Dee Milliner (wrist), quarterback Geno Smith (jaw), receiver Devin Smith (ribs), linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin (knee), linebacker Calvin Pace (groin), offensive lineman Ben Ijalana (knee), receiver Jeremy Kerley (concussion), and cornerback Dashaun Phillips did not practice at all.

A positive for the Jets: Rookie receiver Devin Smith took part in individuals running routes (WATCH VIDEO) with the other receivers. While there was no defense on the field during the drill, and Smith was only running at about half speed, it was the first practice he's had since his injury.

11-on-11, Full-Team highlights

It wasn't the best practice for Jets rookie Jake Heaps. The quarterback was nearly intercepted twice, and was picked off on two other occasions. Both cornerback Darrelle Revis and linebacker David Harris undercut routes for would-be touchdowns.

With the Jets preparing for the Giants, receivers Saalim Hakim and Walter Powell spent the large portion of practice wearing a No. 13 jersey and playing " Odell Beckham Jr." Bowles said after practice that was done to practice where Beckham lines up.

Receiver Shaquelle Evans made a beautiful catch deep down the far sideline on a pass from Bryce Petty. The ball was a little under thrown, so Evans had to come back for it and plucked it out of the air. He caught it over the head of Javier Arenas

Cornerback Dexter McDougle was flagged after being beat by receiver Eric DeckerRyan Fitzpatrick under threw the ball, and when Decker came back for it, McDougle never got his head turned around. One other note on Fitzpatrick, he fumbled two snaps on Wednesday.

Linebacker DeMario Davis and cornerback Darrin Walls were the two that dropped the easy Heaps interceptions. Both were placed right in their hands.

Rookie Leonard Williams beat Oday Aboushi with an inside move and made a would-be tackle for a loss.
