Watch: Pryor Talks About his Playing Status

Calvin Pryor talks about his chances of playing on Sunday

FLORHAM PARK, NJ - The Jets have had to play their last three games without Calvin Pryor, and the defense has clearly missed him, but on Sunday afternoon Pryor expects to be back out on the field with his teammates.

"I'm sure I'll be playing," Pryor told reporters after Monday's practice.

Pryor said he was limited in today's practice but he, "felt pretty good with the things I did. I'm pretty sure I'll do more in practice on Wednesday as a full participant and be ready to go for this weekend."

It's always tough for players to have to sit out of games with an injury, especially when the team is losing, knowing that they can't do anything to help their teammates. So, Pryor put all his focus on getting healthy and getting back to help his team get back to winning.

"It's been difficult, but the main thing is I've just been focused on my rehab and trying to get back with my team," Pryor said. "I can't help the team if I'm not healthy, so I'm just trying to get healthy, so I can come back and help these guys win."

Todd Bowles said Pryor is still "a little sore" and that he still "needs to see more" before he plugs him back into the lineup. Pryor's declaration that he'll be ready is great and all, but ultimately that decision will be made by Bowles and the trainers. Because the locker room portion of media availability was held before Bowles' press conference reporters got to ask Bowles what he thought about Pryor proclaiming he'll play against the Texans on Sunday.

"I'll believe him after Wednesday and Thursday," Bowles said. "He ran around, but he ran straight, so I'll see more this week."

Ryan Fitzpatrick was at home resting after a succesful surgery.

Zac Stacy will be out for the season and will have to be put on IR which will open up a roster spot for Quincy Enunwa now that he's been reinstated from his suspension.

Since it's Monday Bowles didn't have to give the media and injury report but he did give an encouraging quote about who participated, and how much, in practice today.

"(Almost everyone) practiced. We'll have an injury report on Wednesday," Bowles said. "Sheldon (Richardson) was a little sore, Calvin's (Pryor) a little sore, Cro's (Antonio Cromartie) a little sore, but everybody's running. We'll have a full injury report (on Wednesday)."

Bowles again clarified it's just a little soreness in Richardson's hamstring but there wasn't very much, if any, concern about his availability on Sunday.

On Cromartie Bowles said, "He's doing a lot better than he was last week. He's moving around." And Bowles gave his go to answer when asked if he's optimistic that Cromartie will be able to play, "If he practices, yes."
