Jets Veteran G Willie Colon Likely Retiring

As a guest on WFAN's Boomer & Carton show this morning, the 32 year old eluded that he's probably through in the NFL.

While not officially announcing his retirement, 10 year veteran G Willie Colon said he would be looking next year to expanding his career in the media.

Colon, 32, had been battling chronic knee problems all of the 2015 season and was finally placed on the injured reserve list on November 11. He was replaced by 3rd year G Brian Winters who did a good job in the role.

The news is not a surprise as many had speculated that this would be Colon's last year.

Colon was signed in 2013 by the Jets as a free agent after spending his first seven seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A local product from the Bronx, Colon graduated from Hofstra University where the Jets were headquartered before their move to Florham Park, NJ in 2008.
