The Jets already added Matt Forte and re-signed Bilal Powell, but Mike Maccagnan wasn't done adding to the running back stable. Albert Breer of the NFL Network reported that the Jets have signed former Saints running back Khiry Robinson.
This is an impressive running back group with three backs who can run it, catch and pass protect and they can all do those things well. This also gives the team insurance incase anything happens to Forte, whether that's an injury or his production starts to slip due to his age. But the most important thing here is the Jets offense won't have to change anything depending on who the running back is. This gives Chan Gailey the flexibility to run all sorts of interesting packages and opposing defenses won't have any clues to guess pass or run just from the running back.
The Jets obviously still have to figure out who their quarterback is going to be and they could certainly use some upgrades on the offensive line but they now have three quality running backs that can get the job done in different ways and who will all help open things up for the receivers. Whoever the quarterback ends up being he's going to enjoy playing with all of this talent. Jets fans just have to hope whoever that is can be good enough to reap the rewards from playing with all this talent.
