Jets looking to add more depth at LB?

The Jets hosted another veteran LB has learned that the Jets on Wednesday hosted former Cowboys and Bucs ILB Bruce Carter.

Carter (6'3 -235 Lbs), entering his sixth season in the NFL played his first four years with the Cowboys where he was a 2nd round pick in 2011 and was signed to $17MM contract by Tampa last year as a free agent. It obviously was not a good fit as he didn't even crack the starting lineup and was cut after just one season. Overall, Carter in 5 seasons has 289 tackles, 5 sacks and 5 INT's.

The Jets are looking to increase depth at LB after losing Demario Davis. They recently re-signed LB Erin Henderson who is expected to replace Davis but are looking for more able bodies to compete.

Carter left the Jets without signing a contract and is reportedly visiting the Lions today.
