We're another step closer to the start of the football season. The 2016 NFL schedule will be released any minute now but at least we know who and where the Jets will play the first game of the season. The Jets will host the Bengals for their first game of the season.
The Bengals will present the Jets with a tough first week matchup but fans will be happy they can celebrate the first game of the regular season by taking the trip to MetLife Stadium to watch some good old fashioned football on September 11.
Daryle Slater of NJ Advanced media was first to report the news. A source told Slater that while the Jets will open at home, they will play six of their first nine games on the road, "so after the Jets open at home, they'll play six of their next eight on the road."
The full schedule is set to be announced at 8 pm tonight but more games, dates and times will start leaking one by one until then.
