Voting may also take place on the club's official website at www.nyjets.com and at each Jets home game at the Meadowlands. The campaign that is allowing Jets fans to vote for their favorite players for the Four Decade Team has been given the title of NY-XL.
"We are pleased for the Jets to have a marketing relationship with Hess given the great tradition and heritage between both companies," said Lee Stacey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We wanted to give our fans an opportunity to have a voice in who they believe have been the best Jets' players of all-time. The Four Decades campaign meshes the past and present, and allows our fans to select these great players who will be honored on December 20."
The names of 56 players, from two-time Pro Bowl defensive end John Abraham to perennial All-Pro Winston Hill, plus room for write-in candidates, appear on ballots available at all participating sites. The voting for the All-Time team began on August 1 and will run through November 23 when the Jets host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Once the process has come to its conclusion, the Jets will welcome the selected NY-XL team back for a weekend celebration, culminating with the introduction of the All-Time team on Saturday, December 20 when the Club hosts the New England Patriots in a nationally televised prime time game on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.
Commemorative footballs celebrating some of the most memorable games in Jets' history can be purchased at all participating New York-metro, New Jersey and Long Island service and Hess Express locations. A new ball will be issued each month beginning on August 1 through November 1. The commemorative football retails for $5.99.
