The New York Jets have signed developmental offensive tackle Luke Marquardt

The Jets have added a developmental tackle, Luke Marquardt, to their roster

The Jets lost D'Brickashaw Ferguson to retirement and immediately traded for Ryan Clady to be his replacement, they will also look to add to the offensive line through the draft but before that starts they decided to sign a developmental tackle to the roster.

The Jets announced that they have signed offensive tackle Luke Marquardt. Marquardt is 6'6" 315-pounds, he played basketball in high school before being brought into the football team in college at Azusa Pacific where he started as a tight end and ultimately made the move to the offensive line.

Marquardt was signed by the 49ers as an undrafted free agent after the 2014 draft but was put on their non-football injury list. At that size Marquardt is clearly a gifted athlete that the Jets hope to develop into a full functioning offensive lineman in a year or two.
