Jets sign UNC RB Romar Morris

FLORHAM PARK, NJ - As OTA's began on Tuesday the Jets added a running back to their depth chart by signing undrafted free agent Romar Morris.

The team announced the deal via social media. Morris was one of 22 undrafted rookies who tried out for the team during rookie minicamp a few weeks ago and apparently he did well enough for the team to sign him.

The former 5'9" 190 Lb North Carolina Tarheel grad played 50 games for UNC where he gained 1024 yards on 213 carries (a 4.8 avg YPC) and scored 12 TD's.

His expertise is on special teams and this is where he hopes he will impress the Jets and try to gain a permanent roster spot. At the UNC Pro-Day this spring he ran a 4.3 second 40 yard dash.

To make room for Morris the Jets waived TE Jerome Cunningham who they picked up in March after being waived by the Giants.
