Former Jets QB Ray Lucas Thinks Brandon Marshall Will Have A Big Season

Former Jets QB Ray Lucas thinks Jets WR Brandon Marshall will have another monster season.

Speaking recently on SNY TV's Jets Nation, Lucas thinks the veteran WR will add another banner season to his resume, no matter who is throwing the passes to him and will again surpass 100 catches in 2016.

It will be a monumental achievement for Marshall, who is entering his 11th season and second with the Jets, to surpass the success he had last year as he caught 109 passes for 1502 yards and 14 TD's. However, Lucas is confident Marshall will continue to dominate.

Said Lucas: "I don't think it matters who the QB is because they have such a great tandem with (Eric) Decker and Quincy Enunwa coming up."

Former Jets OL Willie Colon agreed with Lucas: "I'm going over (100 receptions) for Marshall too. I think he understands his importance of this year. He's long in the tooth and is losing weight. He knows he's the number one threat and has to be big for the Jets."

The big question for Jets fans is who will be throwing him the passes? With contract negotiations still at a standstill with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Marshall's main gun throwing to him this spring has been Geno Smith. The big concern is if Smith eventually turns out to be the starter, can he finally be consistent during the regular season. Something he hasn't been able to do so far during his career.
