Three observations from the New York Jets October 27 practice

Three observations from today's practice

Florham Park, NJ - The Jets are preparing to face the Cleveland Browns hoping to get their first winning streak of the season. As bad as the Jets have looked this year they have a pretty good chance to complete that mission as they are playing against a team that has yet to win a game this year. Of course you won't hear anything about the Jets taking the Browns lightly.

1) 'Every game in the NFL is tough' - AKA Any Given Sunday, anyone can be beat, it's not like they're getting blown out they're in a lot of close games, they have a lot of talent. Those are just some of the most currently used phrases being tossed around by the Jets. They know with their own record they're not in a 'position to take anyone lightly.'

"We see them as a good football team. We don't worry about their record," Todd Bowles said. "We know they run the ball on anybody. They're big upfront on defense. They have receivers that make plays and their quarterbacks can run and throw, so we just have to be prepared. I know they're going to play tough at home."

2) Looks like Josh McCown will start - Jets fans aren't the only team suffering through quarterback woes. The Browns started the season with Robert Griffin III then het got hurt so McCown was up next until he got hurt to make way for rookie Cody Kessler but then he got hurt and Kevin Hogan had to play last week. And oh yeah they even had Terrelle Pryor taking snaps. Well now McCown is healthy and has been a full participant in practice this week so the Jets will have to face the best quarterback on the Browns.

3) Jets injury report is long - As Bowles was reading off all the names on the injury list I thought it might've been easier to just name the healthy players, then I counted the names and concluded I was being stupid. 10 players missed practice today and four were limited. Austin Seferian-Jenkins (ankle), Nick Mangold (ankle), Brent Qvale (neck), Darron Lee (ankle), Bruce Carter (quad), Antonio Allen (achilles), Matt Forte (knee), Ryan Clady (shoulder), Buster Skrine (knee), Sheldon Richardson (not injury related) all sat out today's practice.

Bowles said Lee, Qvale and Carter will definitely be out. Forte got a rest day because they were practicing on the indoor turf and on Mangold Bowles said, "It doesn't look good right now. He's not running yet. He's walking. As the days go by and he's not running yet, it doesn't look good. But we'll hold out another day or so."

Players that were limited in practice were Bilal PowellMuhammad WilkersonBrandon Marshall and Kellen Davis.
