Florham Park, N.J. - Breno Giacomini could make his season debut Sunday, after the New York Jets activated the right tackle off of the Physically Unable to Perform List. Giacomini has been out for the first seven games of the regular season with a back injury, but has been practicing with the team for the past two weeks. He started all 32 games for the Jets the previous two seasons. Giacomini was apart of the Jets line where they were top 10 in the league in rushing the past two seasons and a line that only allowed 22 sacks last season, second in the NFL. This season, the Jets are 18th, having already allowed 15 sacks through seven games. They are also 21st in the league in rushing, averaging 101.4 yards per game.
In order to make room for Giacomini, the Jets waived wide receiver Jeremy Butler. With all the injuries at wide receiver, Butler was acquired off waivers from Tampa Bay on October 11. Butler didn't appear in a game this season for the Jets. In the preseason, Butler had 16 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
