FLORHAM PARK, NJ - It wasn't meant to be this way. Rookie CB Juston Burris, the team's 4th round pick this spring out of NC State was way down on the depth chart and was expected to just be a contributor on special teams while he learned to elevate his game to the NFL level with the help of Jets veterans such as Darrelle Revis and Buster Skrine.
That all changed on Sunday as the rash of Jets injuries hit panic level with Skrine leaving the game with a concussion. Instantly, Burris was thrown into the fire playing a career high 50 snaps and making 3 tackles in the Jets OT win.
Burris spoke to us after practice today and spoke about the challenge of emerging into the starting lineup as a rookie.
