Jets denied interview of Philly Coach DeFilippo

Eagles to Jets... sorry but no.

According to ESPN the Jets were denied an interview request for Eagles QB Coach John DeFilippo for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

It's unusual for a team to block an interview for a coach to get a promotion but it's legal. Any team can deny a coach an interview woth another team unless it's a head coaching position.

DeFilippo, 38,  who was the Jets QB coach in 2009 under Rex Ryan is a hot commodity based on his development of Carson Wentz.

Other names mentioned on the Jets radar are recently fired Chargers HC Mike McCoy and former Vikings OC Norv Turner but the team's dicey QB situation could be a roadblock in hiring a top notch candidate.

Stay tuned.
