Former Chargers HC Mike McCoy Joins Broncos as OC

Another potential OC off the market...

DENVER, CO - The Broncos announced on Friday that former Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy will be joining the team as their new offensive coordinator under new head coach Vance Joseph. Joseph, the former Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator was hired by Denver after the sudden retirement of Gary Kubiak last week.

McCoy, was arguably the most coveted offensive coordinator candidate on the market as he had a lot of success guiding the Chargers offense during his tenure in San Diego and also has a great reputation working with and grooming young quarterbacks. Something the Broncos needs desperately with talented QB's Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch on the roster.

The Jets reportedly had an interest in McCoy but with the very dicey QB situation on the team, it would be a hard sell to get a blue chip coordinator like McCoy to come aboard.
