Saints QB Drew Brees Likes Jets Hiring of Morton

He's excited for Morton's opportunity in NY...

HOUSTON, TX - In an interview at Superbowl festivities this week on ESPN Radio, Saints QB Drew Brees was asked if he thought the Jets' hiring of former New Orleans WR's coach John Morton was a good move for the Jets.

Brees, who is very familiar with Morton who had 2 stints as Saints WR's coach First in 2006, then again in 2015-2016, thinks the Jets made a great hiring.

"My experience with Johnny (Morton) have been great. Especially over the last two years when he came back to New Orleans. I thought he brought a lot of great ideas and kind of a presence with the coaching staff and contributed a lot. I wish him well and hope he does a great job for the Jets."

Morton replaces Chan Gailey who retired from the NFL after the season. He comes in with a great task of putting together an offense without a franchise quarterback and a very dicey offensive line.
