Jets sign Rambo and Hamilton

The Jets made four roster moves. They waived cornerback Ray Green, put wide receiver Jon Carter (knee) on injured reserve and signed wide receivers Kenyon Rambo and Lawrence Hamilton.

The New York Jets announced today the following roster moves: The Club has signed wide receiver Lawrence Hamilton from the practice squad of the Cincinnati Bengals, signed free agent wide receiver Ken-Yon Rambo, waived cornerback Ray Green, placed wide receiver/kick returner Jonathan Carter on injured reserve and re-signed running back Johnathan Reese to the practice squad. The announcements were made by the Jets public relations department. Hamilton is a 6-2, 204-pound rookie wide receiver from Stephen F. Austin University. The Marshall, Texas native played in the first five games of the 2003 season for the Cincinnati Bengals, making one start, but did not record any statistics. He was waived by the Bengals on October 16 and re-signed to their practice squad the following day, where he has remained since. Hamilton caught 87 passes for 1,609 yards and 12 touchdowns in 33 career collegiate games for the Lumberjacks. Rambo, a third-year man out of Ohio State University, signs with the Jets after spending the 2001 and 2002 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-1, 195-pound receiver totaled 17 receptions for 239 yards (14.1 avg.) with a long grab of 47 yards, averaged 17.4 yards on nine kickoff returns and 2.6 yards on seven punt returns in his two years in Dallas. The Long Beach, California native was waived by the Cowboys at the end of their 2003 training camp on August 31.
