Jets hire secondary coach

The Jets hired former Rutgers coach Doug Graber as their secondary coach on Friday.

The Jets completed their defensive staff with the hiring of Graber.

Graber is coming off a successful stint as head coach of the Frankfurt Galaxy. In 2003, he led the Galaxy to the NFL Europe championship.

Graber is considered an excellent teacher, and has past experience coaching NFL defensive backs. From 1983-86, he was the Kansas City Chiefs secondary coach. Also he was very involved with the Galaxy secondary, and they led NFL Europe in interceptions last year with 14.

Graber will be an helpful resource to the Jets new defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson. Graber has past experience as an NFL defensive coordinator, serving in that capacity for Tampa Bay from 1987-89.

"We are excited to have someone has this kind of coaching experience joining out staff," said Jets coach Herman Edwards.
