Ray will workout Thursday

As first reported by the New York Daily News, CFL quarterback Ricky Ray will workout for the Jets.<p>

Ray recently worked out for 14 teams in Colorado. However he is also agreeing to some individual team workouts as well.

The chance of Ray signing with the Jets is a longshot unless the team releases Vinny Testaverde. With Brooks Bollinger and Testaverde around, they would be set at the backup quarterback positions behind Chad Pennington.

The Miami Dolphins are very interested in Ray, who passed for 35 touchdowns last year in Canada . . .

In other news, former Jets safety Corwin Brown is expected to be named a defensive assistant by the team on Thursday. He will likely work with the safeties. Brown spent the last couple of seasons as the special teams coach at the University of Virginia . . .
