Jets Notes

Ray Mickens returned to practice on Thursday and should able to go on Sunday. He is battling a sprained ankle. Mickens is listed as probable, but he's probably more like questionable.

Randy Thomas isn't on the injury report, but he should be. His ankle is in bad shape. He's able to play on the high ankle sprain, but it's not close to being healed. It's frustrating for Thomas because his usually great mobility isn't limited.

Wayne Chrebet was excused from practice on Thursday because his wife Amy had a baby boy - Lucas Chrebet. Santana Moss didn't practice on Thursday because of a quad injury. He should be able to play on Sunday.

...Curtis Martin now leads the league in rushing thanks to a statistical correction by the league office. A 12-yard gain from last week that was ruled a pass has been changed to a run. So now he's ahead of Jerome Bettis.

...Not only is Mathew Hatchette behind Chrebet, Moss, Laveranues Coles and Kevin Swayne at wide out, it looks like Craig Yeast is now ahead of him. He just doesn't seem to be a good fit for this offense.

...The Jets expect the Steelers to blitz on almost every play and hope to exploit that blitz like the Vikings did last week and hit some big passing plays.
