Jets re-sign Jamie Henderson

The Jets announced on Wednesday that they have signed cornerback Jamie Henderson. Terms of the contract were not announced.

Henderson suffered a head injury in a motorcycle accident in Carrolton, Georgia on April 3, 2004. After signing him, the Jets placed him on the reserved NFI (non-football injury) list, and he will miss the 2004 season. Henderson is currently rehabilitating at the University of Georgia and will continue to do so throughout this season.

"We are cautiously optimistic Jamie will participate in our 2005 off-season program," said Jets GM Terry Bradway. "He is part of our organization, and we felt signing him was the right thing to do."

"We are grateful the Jets stood by Jamie through a very difficult time," said Henderson's agent Pat Dye. "Jamie could not be more excited and appreciative."

Henderson was the Jets 2001 fourth round pick out of Georgia, and played in 32 games for them over his first three seasons in the league, mainly on special teams.
